Your Soap Doesn't Like Your Skin

Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), is a type of surfactant used in personal skin care products such as soap. You will find this chemical in most of your store bought soaps, lotions, etc. Sodium lauryl sulfate is very effective in being a foaming agent in skin care products but at what cost? For SLS the thick lather in soap is outweighed by the health risk it poses to your skin.

SLS strips the skin of its natural oils and rids of your skin's protective layer. Imagine complaining that you have developed what you think is sensitive; dry skin not knowing that your skin care containing SLS and other harsh chemicals are causing inflammatory skin reactions like itchy skin and scalp, eczema and/or dermatitis.

Before I understood that these department store-bought products were worsening my eczema, I regularly scheduled appointments to see a licensed dermatologist. I was frustrated from the prescribed topical creams because I was told not to apply too much cream to infected areas; it causes skin to thin out. I always knew there had to be natural creams and oils to replenish and moisturize your skin, naturally.

My daughter developed small bumps all over her abdomen and legs. I would purchase baby creams and lotions. Wash her with baby soap which is usually hypoallergenic; to keep my baby from scratching those inflamed areas and to make those bumps baby girl had, disappear. I mean lets be honest, as a parent if we see an issue with our babies we buy what we need to cure those situations. In my case, sometimes-the not so natural-baby soaps and lotions kept her from scratching but the inflammation did not go away well. I thought about my own skin situation. I can’t even deal with my own eczema, the topical creams help me to not scratch those areas but the eczema always stuck around leaving nasty bumps and dark marks all over my skin. What’s even more alarming is that the harsh chemicals on the ingredient list of not so natural skin care products are a great health risk. Not only causing dry irritated skin but also skin rashes, hormonal disruptions, headaches, organ dysfunction and the health risk list goes on. To know that I used products this harsh on a baby upsets me, I'm human and I make mistakes. What counts is acknowledging the issue and creating safe natural products that everyone can use.

Going all natural. Doing research on the soaps I was using for my family and myself I've learned a dark truth. If you ever took the time to look at your soaps label; your shampoos/conditioners, your lotions labels you will see that there are harsh chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulfate; that make up your favorite products. Unless you're buying our all natural products. (Bubble Dee’s skin care contains ingredients that are plant derived). I created a body butter using cocoa butter-for healing-shea butter and mango butter which is a great skin conditioner. Baby girl skin bumps went away within two days. I haven't seen any outbreaks or inflammation on her since I've used all natural skin care. Yes, my products are safe enough to use on babies!

I created my own skin care line, Bubble Dee Body Care LLC, because I wanted to provide skin care that has healthy, plant based and aromatherapy oils in body butters and soaps. Thus, they are beneficial to our skin health and well being. We all know what you consume, contributes to your overall health. Since skin is the largest organ of the human body and plays a huge role in YOUR health; it's recommended that we start to consider what we use in our skin care routines for men, women and children. My products contain organic plant derived butters and oils. We do not need to create soaps with SLS to create a thick lather, our soaps lather naturally using cleansing oils such as coconut oil and olive oil. Our Mango soap is made up of coconut oil, olive oil and turmeric powder. Turmeric is great for skin inflammation, soothes irritated skin, brightens dark spots and is an antioxidant.

We prioritize your skin's well being with all natural body care. Our skin care butters and soaps contain fatty acids, vitamins that improve skin’s hydration, minimize breakouts and keep skin from aging. Cherry Vanilla Blossom body butter is a customer’s favorite, due to its healing properties using cherry aromatherapy oils. We’ve added sweet almond oil and caster oil; which are hydrating on skin and moisturizing for people who live in dry cold weather. We do not compromise or short cut with harsh chemicals. All natural skin care, you're in the right place.

*Don't allow your harsh skin care products to hate your skin, toss it out and become apart of the natural community. It's a safe place with safe products here at Bubble Dee Body Care. :) ~Your skin, our priority~
